G A Smith is a North East based company specialising in plant hire, bulk handling, bulk haulage and earthworks, operating from two depots – South Shields and Felton.

The company has established a reputation for providing a professional service to the construction and bulk handling industries, whilst maintaining an exceptionally high performance rate tailored to our customer requirements.

Here at G A Smith, we run a modern, well maintained fleet of construction equipment which is maintained in-house by our own service engineers.

Heavy Haulage

Running our own transport provides one of the backbones of our success in delivering the services required by our clients. Our heavy haulage vehicles range from 44 – 150 tonnes.

Earthworks

The earthmoving division of G A Smith is one of the core sectors within the company. This is mainly due to the large fleet of ADT’s and large excavators.

Bulk Handling

Over the past 10 years, the company has been heavily involved in the handling of coal and biomass and has seen tonnages rise to 5m tonne per annum.
